How do you get started with Curve Wealth and putting a plan in place to manage your Wealth or Retirement savings?

It all starts with a conversation about you and how you see your future – we call it a “Financial Roadmap Meeting” This can be done via video meeting or in person if convenient for you.

This usually takes about an hour and half.

Let us explain what this session is and isn’t. You won’t walk out of the Roadmap meeting with a 100 page investment plan under your arm. The Roadmap is higher level than that – it’s the sort of thinking you need to do before that step. The purpose of a Roadmap is a chance for you to pull back to a 50,000 foot view, and have a good look at where you are today, and get really, really clear on where you’d like to be down the road.

What you get from this process is real clarity about your situation as well as a sense of direction about your future, and confidence that you can make some real progress towards clear goals. The fee for this meeting is $350 plus GST.

Once we have had held the Financial Roadmap Meeting and have a better understanding of the scope of the advice if needed, we will come back to you with a fee proposal which includes both the Strategy and Statement of Initial Advice. We will only suggest you proceed to this step if we think you are in need of Personal Advice and it will benefit you.  Fees for the next step will depend on the complexity of the advice required and how much work is involved for us, but if we suggest you proceed to the next step of obtaining personal advice we will give you a firm quote for the price of doing so – transparent with no hidden fees.

Curve Wealth are Independent Financial Advisers which means we are not conflicted, do not receive commissions or % of fees under management and as a result, our advice is completely unbiased and in your best interests.  Did you know that very few Financial Advisers in Australia are legally allowed to call themselves independent by the Government Regulator because they do not meet the criteria for doing so. For example Advisers employed by Superannuation Funds are conflicted in they will only ever support or advise on their employers products which is not in your Interest- it’s in theirs.

In short being Independent means the fees we charge are based on the amount of work our clients need us to do. This will vary for different clients as not everyone is the same, much like renovating your home, the cost of which is dependent on what work is involved. We will always provide you with a fixed price for any work we do for you before you engage us to do so – no surprises down the track.

The most common feedback we receive from clients that engage us in providing financial advice is that they now have the clarity and confidence in knowing they can achieve their goals OR their goals need to be adjusted to ensure they can maintain a certain lifestyle within their lifetime. It also provides a clear direction in terms of what type of investments that need to be considered and why this is governed by your cash flow and capital requirements for the next 20 plus years as well as your risk profile and liquidity considerations.

Step 2 – Beyond the Financial Roadmap /Meeting

Strategy
Following the Roadmap meeting, we will provide you with a summary of what we think the scope of any Personal Advice we think you need will cover and the cost for doing so. If you wish to proceed to the next step of obtaining a Statement of Advice (Financial Plan) we request further information and documentation from you we may need. We then map out your cash flow and capital and extrapolate it out based on various scenarios to assist in achieving your goals. This includes looking at various scenarios/strategy to determine the most appropriate path to assist in achieving your goals. During this process, we review all current investments, debts and products including superannuation, compare to alternative investments/products and advise you on our recommendations moving forward. We will then meet with you to discuss the Strategy we have developed for you and make sure its going to meet your needs.

Step 3 – Statement of Advice

Under the Corporations Law, we are required to provide our advice in written form in a Statement of Advice which outlines the recommendations and ultimately why it is in your best interest. During this meeting, we go through the formal document to ensure you understand the advice and the next steps of implementing the advice.

Step – After the Statement of Advice

Once the initial advice is provided, you may engage us on a 12-month engagement based on a Fixed Price Agreement which is paid monthly and renewed every 12 months. It includes twice yearly meetings and the work we do for you throughout the year. We will only suggest ongoing management if we think our clients require it and will benefit from it. The cost for this is quoted up front each year based on the amount of work involved. Clients not on an ongoing agreement are welcome to come back in any time for further advice if they need to at which time we will quote them the cost for doing so based on the amount of work involved.

Am I locked in?
8. This is a relationship. You’re not locked in and nor are we.
9. If you aren’t getting value you can walk away.
10. If we see you are not following the advice we will end it.
11. We get you to hire us a year at a time to give you the best chance of getting results
